Founded: March 5, 1972
Founding Pastor: Pastor Teddy Steele
Original Members: 18
East Side Baptist Church first began in couples home in Memphis (The Bomprezzis). This small group of 18 believers soon called Teddy Steele to be their first official Pastor, on March 5, 1972. Over time The Lord began to grow East Side Baptist in great ways, both in numbers and outreach.
Over the years East Side Baptist Church has built a couple of buildings due to necessary room for the growth that it has experienced. The Lord used Pastor Teddy Steele (married to Mrs. Margaret Steele) to lead and shepherd the people at East Side Baptist Church for 40 years.
In 2011 Pastor Teddy Steele went to be with The Lord and God provided another man to continue the work in Memphis, TN. Pastor Finley Cutshaw (married to Mrs. Rebekah Cutshaw) was called to be the new pastor at East Side Baptist Church in February of 2011.
Pastor Cutshaw is a graduate of Ambassador Baptist College in Lattimore, NC. He has a burden for lost and saved. For the lost that they might come to Jesus and for the saved that they would remain faithful to the task that Christ has has committed to all who know Jesus as personal Savior.
East Side Baptist Church has grown over the years from 18 faithful people to nearly 450 in average attendance.
We would love for you to visit East Side Baptist Church this Sunday!
